Enter and work in Confined Spaces, the unit enables participants to safely enter and work in confined spaces. This training is suitable for those required to perform tasks within confined spaces and applies to various operational roles across multiple industries.

Students will learn how to plan and prepare for working in confined spaces, work in confined spaces, exit confined spaces and clean up confined spaces.

This nationally recognised unit (RIIWHS202E) equips participants to safely enter, work in and exit confined spaces. Ideal for workers and supervisors across construction, utilities, maintenance, water industry and local government who have duties that require access to confined spaces.

Participants will be trained and assessed to:

• Identify and assess confined space hazards and risks
• Prepare and implement safe work plans and permits for confined spaces
• Use and check required PPE and equipment for entry/exit and rescue readiness
• Enter, work in and exit confined spaces following industry standards and procedures
• Carry out clean-up and incident reporting requirements

• Legislative and regulatory requirements for confined spaces
• Hazard identification, atmospheric testing and isolation procedures
• Permit systems, emergency planning and rescue arrangements
• Practical entry/exit, use of safety equipment and communication protocols
• Assessment and documentation for a Statement of Attainment

On successful completion participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for unit RIIWHS202E (Enter and work in confined spaces).

• Competent language, literacy and numeracy to complete assessments
• Any site-specific PPE (if attending onsite) — we can advise prior to delivery
