Course Description

This skill set – Trim and cut felled trees (FWPCOT2273) & Maintain chainsaws (FWPCOT2254) describes the skills and knowledge required to trim and cut felled trees with a chainsaw, and complete operator maintenance. It also describes the knowledge and skills required to maintain fuel or electrically powered hand-held chainsaws, as well as completing routine maintenance service, periodic maintenance servicing and chain sharpening.

Course overview

Ideal for professionals in forestry, landscaping, emergency response, and similar fields who require competence in chainsaw operation and maintenance.

Participants will learn how to assist in preparation of the work-site, recognise and apply workplace safety procedures, check and prepare the chainsaw for use, operate the chainsaw, and complete and check chainsaw operation.
